On May 27th, our firm’s Legal Opinion Practice attorneys will be presenting a CLE on Opinions in Commercial Real Estate Transactions. The presentation is sponsored by the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law section of the American Bar Association. We are proud and honored to be able to work with the ABA and have four of our attorneys in the Legal Opinion practice group participate in this educational event.
The discussion will include the purposes and most common types of legal opinion letters, the importance of U.S. standard opinion practice, examples “standard” opinions, reasoned opinions, opinions to federal government agencies, cross-border opinions, and follow up opinions. It will also include a review of professional responsibility considerations when rendering legal opinion letters, the legal implications of rendering legal opinion letters, and the architecture of a standard remedies opinion.
