Real Estate and Land Use partner Frederick H. Mitsdarfer, III recently co-authored an article titled “The Next Era of Commercial Real Estate Finance and Lending: Navigating New Risks and Opportunities in an Evolving Landscape of Climate Risks, Sustainability, and Market Shifts” published in the 2025 July/August issue of Probate & Property, a publication of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section (RPTE). Fred and his co-author Kristin Niver discuss the myriad ways in which climate risk has moved beyond just the question of environmental policy, and joined the conversation when it comes to the financial bottom line for CRE investors, lenders, and other parties alike. Perhaps more importantly for our clients, Fred also discusses the novel tools in the toolkit – CPACE financing being one example – for addressing these complex challenges.
