This week, TG attorneys Larry Tarabicos and Pete Yingst attended the 9th Annual Jersey City Summit to learn more about the historic transformation of Jersey City and meet the developers with the vision to bring these stunning changes to life. It has always been important to us to have our eyes on the ever-changing trends and achievements in commercial real estate, particularly when they are happening so close to home.
An abundance of creative entrepreneurship has built a vibrant live-work-play scene in Jersey City that has not existed for several decades due to ongoing disinvestment and industrial decline. Speakers included Gov. Phil Murphy and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, in addition a number of key real estate developers who have been working tirelessly to improve the city for the last decade.
Numerous mixed use development projects and brand new skyscrapers have been completed already, and even more are in the pipeline, such as a complex, 3-acre, adaptive reuse of the Steel Tech property which will include a 17-story residential tower, community amenities, retail spaces and a Minority Business Enterprise Success Incubator. There is also the massive 100-acre Bayfront Redevelopment Project, which, when completed, will be the largest mixed-income housing development in the Tri-State area.
