Partner Mike Hoffman was the featured speaker at a recent educational event hosted by the League of Women Voters of New Castle County. His presentation examined the role of the New Castle County Comprehensive Development Plan as an important tool used by the County to map its goals, objectives, and strategies for future land use and development.
The League of Women Voters organized the May 26th virtual event as an opportunity for learning and discussion, in anticipation of the forthcoming update to the NCC Comprehensive Development Plan, which was last updated in 2012.
Delaware Code requires all local governments (both county and municipal) to develop and regularly update comprehensive plans. The next update to the NCC Comprehensive Plan is due in 2022, and the planning process, which involves significant public input and engagement, will soon be underway.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization, which encourages informed and active participation in government. The League works to increase understanding of major public policy issues through education and advocacy.
